Web Editor Feedback Questionnaire

Web Services is in the process of enhancing the Web Editor user experience on the Providence College websites and we’d value your input as a Web Editor.

To better understand your needs and how we can improve your editing experience in WordPress, we’ve created a short feedback form with a few quick questions. Your responses will help guide our updates and ensure they support the way you work.

As part of our upcoming improvements, we’ll be introducing new visual styles to help make your editing experience easier. In addition, we’ll be adding helpful instructional text within blocks to guide editors on how to use them effectively. These enhancements are aimed at making editing more intuitive and efficient.

We greatly appreciate your time and insights.
Please submit your feedback by June 12th.
Thank you for helping us make the WordPress experience better for everyone!

Best Regards,
Joshua Lopes
Sr. Web & User Experience Developer

Accessible Color Updates

WordPress color picker, highlighting new label "Background Gold (with black text only)"
Example of the revised color picker

We’ve made a few updates to the color picker to improve accessibility and ensure better color contrast across the site:

  • The two reds (Admission Red and PCSB Red) are now one unified, accessible red (“PC Red”), intended for use only with white text.
  • The three silver tones have been streamlined into two.
  • All silver and gold options now include labels indicating whether they should be used as a background color or a text color, and paired with white or black for optimal contrast.

These changes are part of our ongoing effort to make the site more accessible and user-friendly. Thanks for keeping these in mind as you edit!

Google Tag Manager

The Google Tag Manager logo

For Web Editors involved in digital marketing efforts using Google Tag Manager- we’ve just moved to using a single container across all providence.edu websites. If you are working with 3rd party vendors who are assisting you with your marketing efforts, you’ll want to let them know about this change. If you have questions or need access/assistance, please reach out to Dan Demmons.
