WordPress 6.2 “Dolphy” Update
Providence.edu sites have been updated to WordPress 6.2 “Dolphy”. Most of the updated elements are not applicable for our sites; we’ve highlighted the notable changes below. For a full list of updated elements for vanilla WordPress, please check out the WordPress news blog.
Settings Icon Switched from a Gear to a New Page Icon
One of the first things you’ll notice when editing a page is that in the top right corner below your user profile, the icon for settings, which was once a gear, has now been swapped out for a “page” icon.
New View Mode Available – Distraction Free
A new view mode- Distraction Free- is now available. The intent of this mode is to provide a clear, clean, uncluttered environment to support writing in the WordPress environment. Coupled with full-screen view mode, it is a very simple experience. Give it a try!
